Pool House

Project Name

Pool House

This was to be a multi-phase redevelopment of a roughly 1 1⁄2 acre waterfront property in Ogunquit, including a main house, pool house/garage and guest house with a carefully integrated landscape plan and swimming pool.

The focus was to maximize views and breezes while maintaining and protecting the privacy of the client from those using Marginal Way. A design challenge solved through careful building siting and orientation, combined with a thoughtful landscape plan. The design includes layered living experiences such as light-filled interior spaces, open-air decks, and lawns. Natural materials, soft colors and optimally placed windows were included to create spaces that would be welcoming, comfortable and have a direct connection to the vistas.

The architectural goal was to modernize a very familiar form; a simple gable structure.
